Apple Unveils Updated MacBook Pro, Mac mini With M2-Series Chips
The headlining new feature of the update 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook is the faster M2 Pro and M2 Max chips
Apple says that the machines can tackle demanding tasks, like effects rendering, up to six times faster than the fastest Intel-base MacBook Pro.
The improved chip also provides battery life of up to 22 hours, the longest battery life ever in a Mac.
Another addition is support for Wi-Fi 6E that is up to twice as fast as the previous Wi-Fi 6 standard. With advanced HDMI, you can also use 8K displays for the first time.
You can order both the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models starting today. They will officially arrive on Tuesday, Jan. 24. The 14-inch model with an M2 Pro chip starts at $1,999 while the larger 16-inch model with M2 Pro chip starts at $2,499.
Other options, like the M2 Max chip are available to custom order for additional cost. You can even choose a model with a whopping 96GB of unified memory.
Both models feature the same design as the previous versions and also offer MagSafe 3 charging, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, and an SDXC slot.
